Bench No 01 Origin
Reclaimed cedar, coastal stone
Victoria, British Columbia
2026
Available
Bench No. 01 began as an exploration of balance between organic material movement and grounded mass. The seat was shaped from reclaimed cedar salvaged from an aging coastal structure, while the stone support was selected for its natural weight and permanence.
The bench was designed to feel both sculptural and useful — an object intended to quietly anchor a space rather than dominate it. Subtle contours in the seat surface were shaped by hand to preserve the natural movement of the wood and invite interaction over time.
One of one.
Bench No 02 Passage

Commissioned Piece
Bench No. 02 continues Buck Studios’ exploration of sculptural seating built from reclaimed and natural materials. Shaped from salvaged cedar and supported by asymmetrical stone and blackened forms, the piece balances warmth, weight, and restraint.
A concealed copper detail is integrated within the structure of the bench, allowing for a quiet personal inscription hidden beneath the surface. Intended as a lasting object rather than a temporary furnishing, the bench reflects the studio’s interest in material history, permanence, and emotional connection.
Built slowly. Meant to last.
Buck Studios is a small furniture studio in Victoria, British Columbia building sculptural furniture from reclaimed wood, stone, and salvaged materials. Each piece is shaped by hand and designed to highlight the character of the materials it came from. The goal is simple: to create objects that feel grounded, useful, and worth keeping for a very long time.
Start a Commission
Buck Studios accepts a limited number of custom commissions each year.
Most projects begin with a conversation about the space the piece is being made for, the materials involved, and how it will be used over time. From there, designs develop through sketches, sourcing, and hands-on experimentation in the shop before construction begins.
Each piece is built by hand in Victoria, British Columbia.
